When the first COVID 19 lockdown of March 2020 hit the UK, all my Hot Dogs n Cool Cats dog walking and cat sitting work dried up. With all the spare time and energy I had, I started rescuing local stray cats. This rapidly grew into PawPurrs Halfway House.
While I wasn’t working, I was rescuing and rehoming abandoned, homeless and pregnant cats ALL over Manchester. As of March 2022 I have saved over 470 cats, most of which were rehomed in a loving and safe environment. Now I am proud to declare that PawPurrs Halfway House is a registered charity (1197055).
Naturally some of the rescued cats, adopted owners have now become clients, and since the lockdowns are now over, people are returning to normal working hours, taking holidays and I get to look after my rescue cats once again. What a pleasure it is to unite with these former PawPurrs and I can see first-hand how they've blossomed in their adopted homes. All the effort and care invested in rescuing the cats, is now being shared and they are thriving which makes it ALL worthwhile.
